Growing up to 60cm in height, the Euphorbia Resinifera (The Moroccan Mound) is a low growing succulent that depends highly on good drainage and lighting. This plant is one of the oldest documented medical plants of all the Euphorbia species and has a long history of cultivation. Like most Euphorbia plants, the Moroccan Mound displays small yellow blooms throughout early spring.

Cactus Vision strongly suggests growing this species outdoors, it is extremely heat tollerant and perfect for areas that tend to burn other plant species over summer. For inland areas, this isn’t a bad choice - the Moroccan Mound can withstand temperatures as low as -3 degrees C. For prolonged frost however we suggest covering your cacti with a hessian bag for protection.

  • WATER: Water generously when soil is dry in Autumn/Summer/Spring, seldom in Winter.

OUTDOORS: Absolutely, position your plant in half day sun, a bright shaded area or full day sun. We recommend watering plants in full day sun more frequently in the peak of Summer (biweekly - weekly); this regular watering over summer helps prevent sunburn in extreme weather.

INDOORS: This plant is comfortable in well lit indoor areas - preferably close to a window (preferably 2-3+ hours of direct sun on a sunny day)

NB: The most affordable and efficient way to measure if it is time to water your cacti is by using a water meter. When the meter reads “DRY” its time to water again. Remember, over watering Cacti is the main cause of death.Head to our online store to buy your water meter today!
