The Fire Stick Cactus, also known as the Milk Bush, Pencil Cactus, Aveloz, Indian Tree Spurge, or Naked Lady, is a bushy structured Euphorbia that hails from semi-arid tropical climates across Africa. It's botanically known as Euphorbia Tirucalli, but we like to call it the "Hot Stick" for short.
The Fire Stick Cactus's nickname reflects its red branches, which deepen in shades of orange, red, and yellow in colder months and when they receive sunlight. Due to its protective latex sap, this species is deer, possum, and kangaroo resistant and should be handled with care.
Like all of Cactus Vision's plants, the Fire Stick Cactus is a great drought-tolerant option for modern homes and gardens. In terms of maintenance, this plant requires seasonal trimming, due to its fast-growing pencil-thin branches. Customers appreciate that insects and bugs virtually don't affect this plant, making it a highly recommended option for those without a green thumb.
Cactus Vision favours this plant for large garden beds and courtyards, where scale is desired to bring texture and colour, warming up uninviting spaces.
